Progesterone Testing

Price £40

A quantitative progesterone blood test is the single most accurate method for timing breedings. The test is reported as a numeric result, usually ng/dl or Nmols Combined with observing the behavor of the dog and bitch, vaginal cytology, ovulation can be pinpointed with great accuracy in most bitches.

Cytology

Examination of exfoliated cells from the vagina is a simple technique that is useful to monitor the progression of proestrus and estrus in dogs and cats.1-3 The vaginal epithelium undergoes a predictable hyperplastic response to increasing plasma estrogen concentrations during proestrus.

Ultrasound

We carry out pregnancy ultrasounds in clinic from day 28 post 1st natural mating or 1st Artificial Insemination AI.  The process is stressless to the bitch and only takes a few minutes.

Sperm Analysis

Price £50

Semen analysis enables us to check a dogs fertility by testing using an accurate microscope and computer system. This is the 1st stage of checking if a client is able to be used for stud and achieve  a successful litter.

Semen Chilling/Transporting

From £120

Here at Grunnells we are able to extract semen from the stud dog, and send it anywhere in the country at a very reasonable price. We have an excellent success rate and can act at short notice if required.

Freezing of Canine Semen and 12 months Initial Storage

This enables us to store semen indefinitely and after the the male has been castrated or diseased. We can also send to anywhere in the world  so that a bitch can be inseminated

Artificial Insemination

Here at Grunnells we are able to extract semen from the stud dog, and send it anywhere in the country at a very reasonable price. We have an excellent success rate and can act at short notice if required.

Nano Microchips

Price £8

Its a legal requirement that all puppies must be microchipped. Its is the breeders responsibility to get this done by a qualified implanter. At Grunnells we use microchips that once implanted they are registered in the breeders account and then transfered to new owners for free.
